Simply add ( 120 g ) butter & ( ½ cup ) water for that iconic bakery fresh Scrummie Scones taste.
Step 1:
Preheat the oven to 425°F/220°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2:
Empty the Scrummie Scone Base Mix into a bowl and stir to ensure all ingredients are well mixed. Add room temperature butter and using your fingers gently combine until it resembles small breadcrumbs. (Hint – Take your time)
Step 3:
Add the Scrummie Scones Flavor Pack into the bowl, still using your fingers, blend until evenly distributed throughout the mix.
Step 4:
Slowly add ½ cup of water while folding the mixture with a spatula/butter knife until it binds together as dough. (Hint - Don't over work the dough!)
Step 5:
Turn out the dough onto a well floured surface and gently shape into a 15cm (6”) round that is 7cm (2 ¾”) high. Evenly prick over the top of the dough with a fork, then cut into 8 equal segments, and place on the baking sheet, about 2cm (¾”) space apart. (Hint: Let your scones rest for 10 mins before placing into the oven)
Step 6:
Place the baking sheet into the middle of the oven and bake for 12 - 14 mins or until golden.
